Our Operation

W1 was established in 1992; it was one of the first dairy conversions in Western Southland. It grew to a size of 970 cows in 1999 until W2 was split off.

Milking shed: 36 bail DeLaval Rotary (to be replaced this spring with a 54 bail Milfos shed)
Free stall barn: 625 stalls
Targeted Production: 400.000 kg MS

Woldwide One

Woldwide Two 

W2 was converted in 2000 as part of W1 and the milking shed was built in 2001. The free stall barn was added in 2005.

Milking shed: 50 bail DeLaval
Free stall barn: 625 stalls
Targeted Production: 450.000 kg MS

Woldwide Three 

W3 started off as a cut and carry block for fresh grass. Two other sheep farms were added and a milking shed was built in 2003.

 

Effective Area: 286 ha
Cows wintered: 980
Milking shed: 54 bail Milfos
Free stall barn: 700 stalls
Targeted Production: 525.000 kg MS

Woldwide Four 

Woldwide Four was established through the amalgamation of two farms in 2009. 


Effective Area: 293 ha
Cows wintered: 900
Milking shed: 54 bail Milfos

Free stall barn 770 stalls & straw area for 200. Cows calving inside
Targeted Production: 505.0000 kg MS

Woldwide Five 

Woldwide Five is out newest conversion; an amalgamation of three sheep/ grazing farms

 

Effective area: 305 ha

Cows wintered: 940

Milking shed: 64 bail Milfos

Free stall barn 770 stalls & straw area for 200. Cows calving inside

Targeted production: 525.000 kg MS

Woldwide Run-Off

Woldwide Runoff consists of two blocks, Merrivale and Merryburn

Merrivale is owned by the group and Merryburn is leased.

The hills at Merrivale are planted out in 120 ha post 1990 pine forests that accrue carbon credits. There is also 60 ha Beech forest that is kept under a Sustainable Management Plan

Woldwide Runoff keeps all young stock from about 3 to about 22 months.

​

Any pasture surplus is harvested and taken to the dairy farms

Woldwide Support

WWF is the supporting entity of the whole group. Its functions are:
Administrative- and management support of the whole group from our office 1599 Hundred Line
Silage supply to the dairy farms 
Slurry removal from free stall barns
Contracting (ground work, drainage, general maintenance, site preparation for building projects)
Feed contracts to dairy farms
Supply of minerals and other requirements to dairy farms
Trucking (bulk, baleage and stock)
